Basic Forms of Medical Furniture Required In Wards

A wide range of furniture is required in the hospital wards. Here are some basic types of medical ward furniture. First and the foremost is the hospital ward bed. In particular, beds are meant to facilitate the recovery of the ward patients who are undergoing some or the other sort of treatment. They are also designed for providing comfort to the ailing patients and to soothe the pain that they are going through by relaxing them. The beds comprise of the wheels so as to simplify the process of transporting the patients from the ward to the surgical room or operation theater, etc. The bedside lockers and tables are also of use for the patients for keeping the food, and other uses and the ward staff for keeping the medial equipment.
Next in the list of medical ward furniture that is used in the wards is the stool. A chair without the back and armrests is referred to as the stool. Stools are generally designed for the attendees and the medical staff appointed in the wards. Another type of chair that is required in the wards is the wheel chair. It is used to shift the patients who are not able to walk from one place to other. Stools and the other chairs used must be durable, stain resistant and comfortable.

Another furniture item of immense use in the ward is the cabinet, which may be attached to the wall or be a movable item. These are used for storing the belongings of the patients or the medical supplies such as drugs, equipment, etc. needed by the medical personnel. The furniture that is required in areas other than the wards include hospital operating table in the surgical theater, trolleys in various areas among the others.
